Starbucks Robbery in Kingston, Washington
In a rather unusual incident in Kingston, Washington, a robber bypassed the front door of a Starbucks, opting instead to break into a neighboring building and create an access point through the wall of the café’s bathroom. This peculiar break-in took place around 3:30 a.m. on August 8, as reported by the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.
Employees arriving for their early shift at the Starbucks, located on Northeast Highway 104, discovered the store had been looted. They quickly found a hole in the wall leading to an empty adjacent unit.
The sheriff’s office detailed that once inside, the intruder rummaged through a cash drawer, severed computer cables, and caused significant damage to the cabinets and a safe, indicating attempts to break into it. It’s still uncertain if anything valuable was taken, and assessments of the total damages are ongoing.
As of mid-August, no suspects have been identified in the case.
Investigators are scrutinizing surveillance footage and are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the Crime Stoppers line in Kitsap County or share tips via the sheriff’s Facebook page.
While thefts are not rare in this area, the method of tunneling through to access the store is uncommon, suggesting a level of premeditation. Authorities are hopeful that the unique nature of this crime, coupled with the release of body cam footage, may help jog someone’s memory about the incident.
