Luka Doncic leaves the EuroBasket court with a noticeable limp amid Lakers injury concerns

Lakers Fans on Edge After Doncic Injury

On Saturday afternoon, Lakers fans found themselves holding their breath. Luka Doncic was participating in a Eurobasket exhibition game representing Slovenia when he stumbled onto a teammate and limped off the court during a matchup against Latvia.

In the third quarter, Gregor Flovatt, Doncic’s fellow Slovenian player, was defending the ball when he inadvertently knocked the Lakers star to the ground, causing Flovatt to fall back onto Doncic.

Doncic was visibly in pain as he leaned against the basket and then stepped onto the sidelines. He did put some pressure on his right foot, which was a relief, as he managed to walk into the locker room by himself. Fortunately for Los Angeles, it seems he avoided any “serious” injuries.

Doncic had been on fire in the first half, scoring 26 points along with five assists and four rebounds. It remains uncertain whether this injury will impact his ability to play in Slovenia’s opening Eurobasket match against Poland on August 28th.

This offseason has been noteworthy for Doncic, who recently signed the largest three-year extension in early August. He expressed his excitement about the upcoming season, saying, “I just signed an extension with the Lakers and am excited to bring the championship to Los Angeles and continue to work as proud of Lakernation.” He thanked the Lakers, his teammates, and the fans for their unwavering support.

Additionally, Doncic has undergone a body transformation, part of which includes intense workouts and a new diet. He disclosed that he lost 31 pounds over the offseason, stating, “That’s why I try my best to tackle a lot of things every summer. Obviously, I’m very competitive. I was a little different this summer. You knew. It motivated me to get better. Visually, I think my whole body looks better.”
