Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson faced some criticism over the weekend after he shared a post by conservative influencer Charlie Kirk on X. The post simply stated, “It’s all about Jesus.” This caught some attention, especially since Jackson is known for being open about his Christian faith.
His timeline on X features numerous religious messages, including frequent affirmations like “God is good.” Yet, it seems this particular re-share stirred up quite a bit of negative response from some quarters, despite its seemingly innocuous nature.
Representatives for Jackson were contacted for a comment regarding the situation.
As for Jackson’s political views, they remain less clear, but his devotion to his faith is unmistakable. Following games, he often expresses gratitude and praises the Lord.
Interestingly, Jackson had signed a new contract with the Ravens in 2023, during which he mentioned he was largely indifferent to external opinions about his negotiations. “It’s about believing in yourself at the end of the day,” he said, emphasizing the importance of his faith by stating, “Without him, there’s no Lamar Jackson, so I’ll keep God first.” This kind of mention isn’t new for him and likely won’t change.
Kirk addressed the fallout, reaffirming his message by saying, “Jesus is the way, the truth, and life.”
