Body of Five-Year-Old Found in Los Angeles Parking Lot
Residents in a Los Angeles neighborhood were left in disbelief when a five-year-old boy’s body was discovered near a trash can in a parking lot. The grim incident has escalated community fears.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a homeless man alerted authorities after he found the child’s remains in a parking lot on Van Nuys Boulevard in Panorama City.
“They are the kids’ neighbors, and they know that the baby was ignored and abused. People saw something and said nothing,” shared a local resident.
“This is horrifying and impacts everyone who attends these scenes, anyone who hears about it,” remarked LAPD Detective Meghan Aguilar as reported by Blaze News.
Shortly after, police arrested 20-year-old Brycson Malik Gaddis, charging him with murder and assault on a child resulting in death. Gaddis was previously in a relationship with the boy’s mother, identified as Eliziah Khan.
In a report by KABC-TV, a man was seen retrieving surveillance footage from the night the crime occurred, carrying a bundle wrapped in a blanket near the scene.
“You could see a head and tiny legs hanging,” recalled Yousef Rabadi, who co-owns a nearby market.
Rabadi mentioned that security personnel provided him with a copy of the video.
KABC further reported that similar footage was mentioned in a search warrant for Gaddis’s home. Police stated that “the victim was wrapped in a multicolored blanket,” which matched the one found with the body.
The investigation also uncovered evidence of blood in Gaddis’s apartment, including traces in the toilet, drains, backsplashes, and various tote bags, as per the warrant details.
Authorities confirmed that the child suffered severe injuries, including a broken jaw, a fractured rib, and a lacerated liver.
Gaddis’s bail has been set at $2 million. While a woman seen in the video with him is identified as the child’s mother, she has not faced any charges at this time.
