Jack White Responds to White House Criticism

Former White Stripe lead vocalist Jack White hit back at the Trump administration on Wednesday, following comments from the White House that labeled him a “washed loser.”

In a detailed Instagram post, White reacted to remarks made by White House communications director Stephen Chen, who questioned President Donald Trump’s character, dubbing him an anti-Trump “has-been” and labeling White as a “conman” and “low life fascist.”

“We can’t shield this low-living fascist… this failed seller of Trump steak, vodka, and water,” White stated. He expressed his discontent with the administration, remarking, “This guy and his clueless crew have managed to thrive for years while keeping the American public in the dark.”

The “Seven Nation Army” artist’s comments followed Chen’s criticism of White for disparaging Trump’s new Oval Office décor in an earlier statement to the Daily Beast.

“Jack White has been washed out; he clearly has too much time on his hands if he’s resulting to social media rants about his stagnant career,” Chen commented on Tuesday.

Chen accused White of lacking genuine artistry, claiming he couldn’t appreciate the significance of the Oval Office and was being rude.

White had previously slammed a new gold decoration in the Oval Office during an Instagram post, stating, “Look at how disgusting Trump has transformed the historic White House. It resembles a tacky, flashy wrestling locker room now.”

He took issue with Trump’s intent to host a UFC fight on the White House lawn, reflecting on how the administration seemed to be drawing closer to the absurdity depicted in the film “Idiocracy.” White said, “It’s a shame we might see a UFC event at a place meant to symbolize our nation’s history during its 250th anniversary.”

While their war of words escalated, White expressed a sense of disbelief at the administration’s sensitivity to criticism, remarking, “How is this administration so thin-skinned? Are you pretending to be a real artist? Thanks for giving me my gravestone sculpture!”

In the continuation of his Instagram post, White criticized American leadership. “He acts like a Christian, a leader, a person with real empathy,” he said, indirectly targeting Trump, Chen, and White House press secretary Caroline Levitt.

He stated, “Today’s staff, professional liars like Stephen Chen and Caroline Levitt, routinely mask their fascism as patriotism, sowing hatred and division.”

Along with his two-page critique of Trump in the social media post, White reflected on his political stance, asserting, “I don’t always voice my political views, and I don’t claim to know everything, but when it comes to this man and this administration, I refuse to be silent like the minority in Germany during the 1930s.”

Chen later responded to White’s Instagram remarks, though specific comments were not detailed.
