On Friday morning, FBI agents raided the home of former Trump national security adviser John Bolton in the D.C. area as part of a significant national security investigation.
According to sources, federal agents were present at Bolton’s Bethesda, Maryland residence around 7 AM, following an operation ordered by FBI director Kash Patel.
In a rather puzzling post on X, Patel stated, “No one is beyond the law,” just as the raid was beginning.
This ongoing investigation reportedly involves classified documents that were initially part of a probe several years prior. However, senior U.S. officials claim that the Biden administration had closed it down for “political reasons.”
Bolton has faced allegations concerning the inclusion of classified details in his 2020 book, “The Room Where It Happened.”
President Trump previously attempted to challenge the release of Bolton’s book, accusing him of violating an NDA he signed while in office, but this effort did not succeed.
The Department of Justice began looking into the book back in September 2020.
Since leaving the administration, Bolton has publicly criticized Trump’s national security policies, which has led to an ongoing strife between the two.
This raid comes shortly after Patel revealed that former FBI director James Comey had authorized a leak of a confidential document named “Misleading While” right before the 2016 election. Patel has committed to rooting out corruption within the federal government and uncovering cover-ups.
