FBI Agents Search John Bolton's Residence and Workplace

The FBI conducted a raid at the home and offices of John Bolton in Maryland early Friday. This action involved agents entering the residence of the former National Security Advisor, who had served under President Trump.

The search was sanctioned by the court as part of a larger investigation into classified records, according to a report from NBC News.

At 76, Bolton had a tenure of 17 months in the Trump administration during its first term.

While the U.S. Department of Justice has not yet issued any statements, FBI Director Kash Patel took to social media, asserting that “No one is beyond the law,” and noting that agents were on a mission.

Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino also appeared to comment on the raid via social media. Bondi emphasized that “American security cannot be negotiated” and that justice is always pursued. Bongino added that “Public corruption is not tolerated.”

This incident isn’t the first time Bolton has had tensions with Trump officials. In 2020, the White House had advised Bolton to postpone the release of his book, warning that it contained a significant amount of confidential information. A letter from Ellen Knight, a senior director on the National Security Council, requested that Bolton’s manuscript be reviewed due to its classified content.
