Court Ruling Limits Social Media Posts by Halle Bailey and DDG
A recent court decision has prohibited actress Halle Bailey, known from “The Little Mermaid,” and rapper DDG from sharing images of their 19-month-old son on social media.
The Family Division of the California Superior Court in Los Angeles has ordered the couple to avoid posting any “photos, images, information” related to their child online, as reported by various sources. The documents detailing this ruling indicate that it aims to protect the child’s privacy.
The court emphasized that both parties are to refrain from engaging in any social media activities regarding their minor child, ensuring that neither can post or share such content.
Additionally, the legal documents specify an updated visitation agreement for DDG. He is now allowed to have “peaceful contact” with Bailey to arrange visits. These visits are to occur under supervision every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., as well as every other Sunday during those hours.
The monitoring is aimed at ensuring compliance with the court’s social media restrictions. This oversight is crucial, as the court highlighted that maintaining the child’s privacy is a central concern.
These new stipulations come in light of ongoing legal disputes between the former couple. Throughout their rocky relationship, they have made various claims against each other, leading to this recent development.
In June, the court issued a temporary restraining order against Bailey after DDG sought sole legal and physical custody of their son, citing concerns of abuse and other issues. He also attempted to limit her travel abroad due to these allegations.
Bailey countered these claims, stating that DDG had verbally abused her, even in front of their son. She expressed concerns about the threats and negative attention she has faced online due to DDG’s accusations.
As it stands, the court’s decision raises questions about why the sharing of their child’s images has become such a pressing legal matter.
