Noem's Black Coating Renders Border Wall 'Impenetrable'

Trump Praises Noem for Border Wall Efforts

President Donald Trump commended Department of Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem on Friday during a press conference in the Oval Office, highlighting her work on the border wall. He remarked that the heat makes it challenging for illegal immigrants to scale it. Reports surfaced that Noem and others had been painting the wall black.

Two weeks prior, Trump had requested a favor regarding the wall from Noem. He mentioned:

“I didn’t realize she was listening, but, we need a coat of paint. Black makes the steel incredibly hot—it’s out of hand. You could probably fry an egg on it. A good black flat paint looks nice and prevents rust; that was my idea. Along with 30 other suggestions, she did a fantastic job at the border with Tom Homan. Tom’s great at his role, and they work well together. I watched the walls painted by Christie last night, and they looked beautiful.”

Noem responded, stating, “It’s beautiful and hot.”

In a recent social media post, she shared a video with Border Patrol officers showing off the completed wall, reassuring Americans that it was finished.

Noem expressed gratitude towards the workers: “Our borders remain safe. To those of you who have worked hard to finish the walls, you’re saving lives and protecting our way of life. Thank you.”

During another press conference at the wall in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, she mentioned to a reporter that, “Countries without borders are not nations at all.” She noted that climbing the wall is quite difficult and emphasized that additional structures would further secure it.

Noem clarified that painting the wall was a specific request from Trump. In January, construction on the border walls picked back up after former President Joe Biden’s policies had stirred significant issues.
