Serial Carjacker Arrested After Violent Rampage

A suspected serial carjacker was denied bail following a chaotic crime spree that took place on Friday morning. Kevin Dubison, 28, allegedly attempted to violently steal cars from two 87-year-old women, threatening to “kill” one victim, and causing severe injuries.

Disturbingly, the elderly woman was saved from her vehicle by her daughter. However, when Dubison learned they were driving away rapidly in a stolen SUV, both were knocked down.

The elderly victim sustained broken wrists, a head wound, and other serious injuries. Her daughter also suffered injuries during the encounter.

Dubison, who was on parole for a previous robbery and has a history of at least ten arrests, denied causing harm to the elderly woman when questioned by authorities. Court documents indicate that he admitted to some of the accusations.

“I jumped into the whip. I saw a woman on the ground,” he reportedly told investigators.

He now faces 14 charges, including assault, robbery, and threatening police officers, and was remanded after a court appearance on Sunday.

The timeline of Dubison’s violent actions began at around 8:40 AM on Friday. At a gas station, he confronted an attendant, insisting he hadn’t left his vehicle. A struggle ensued, during which the attendant managed to take the car keys from Dubison’s grip.

Following this, Dubison allegedly threatened another woman on the street, proclaiming, “I’m going to kill you.” About ten minutes later, he targeted an Uber driver near Whitestone Highlands, demanding, “Give me a car.” Although the driver attempted to keep his keys, Dubison overpowered him and took them.

After fleeing the scene, Dubison reportedly backed into an elderly woman before speeding away.

Police responded to a 911 call from the Uber driver and surrounded Dubison, who was suspected of carrying a gun at the time. During the incident, Officer Corey Fisher was injured, sustaining two gunshot wounds from friendly fire, which required surgery.

Following his arrest, Dubison reportedly spun a web of deceit when questioned by investigators, claiming to have acted in self-defense and insisting that he had not intended to harm anyone.

Despite his claims, Dubison was found not to possess a real firearm during the incident. The defendant’s actions have caused significant disruption in the normally quiet neighborhood.

Prosecutors emphasized the seriousness of Dubison’s behavior, linking it to the hospitalization of Officer Fisher. Reports indicate that Dubison may have been involved in two additional car thefts the day before, including one that crashed into a construction site.

If convicted, Dubison faces a potential sentence of 32 years in prison.
