Hollywood Manager Larry Thompson Runs for Congress
Veteran Hollywood talent manager Larry Thompson announced on Tuesday that he is running for the US Congress as a Republican.
In his campaign announcement, Thompson emphasized his commitment to fostering a bipartisan spirit in California and creating a more welcoming environment for the entertainment industry. He is challenging long-time incumbent Rep. Brad Sherman (D) in California’s 32nd District, which includes areas like Brentwood, Encino, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Sherman Oaks, and Studio City.
“California has always felt like a dream land,” Thompson stated. “Yet, somewhere along the way, that positive energy and promise seem to have faded. My goal is to reignite that vision: celebrating our historic Hollywood legacy while implementing bold, bipartisan solutions that don’t keep us stuck in the past.”
Interestingly, his campaign website refers to him as the “sane man.”
“Let’s initiate a new dialogue to end the conflict and focus on getting practical things done,” the website conveys.
He also shared a 32 Point Campaign Plan, pledging to dismantle the dominance of one party in the state. Moreover, he plans to collaborate with real estate developer Rick Caruso to rebuild Pacific Palisades and Malibu after the recent wildfires.
“I aim to replace your longstanding representative, Brad Sherman, with a fresh, energetic vision for your future. Importantly, we will prioritize the needs of those affected by the Malibu fire first,” he added.
