Coco Gauff’s Approach to Style at the US Open

American tennis sensation Coco Gauff is embracing her appearance ahead of the prestigious Grand Slam tournament, the US Open, which marks the culmination of the annual Grand Slam calendar. She has indicated that she likes to plan her outfits in advance for these events.

Defending her style choices, Gauff reflected on the attention surrounding women’s looks both on and off the court. “I don’t quite understand why it’s such a big deal for women to decide how they want to present themselves,” she remarked, emphasizing her humanity. “Tennis is just something I do; it doesn’t define me. I think it’s great when people can express their personalities, and I want to do the same.”

Noting the effort she puts into her hair, nails, and outfits, Gauff mentioned that while her attention to these details might be rare, she sees it as equally important to preparing for her opponents. “For me, it’s about showing up as the best version of myself. If women want to focus on their appearance, they should be celebrated, not criticized,” she stated.

Ranked third in the women’s singles category, Gauff has advanced to the third round of the US Open after winning her first two matches, including a straight-set victory over Croatian Donna Vekic. Dressed in a white skirt paired with a red top and accessories, her style remained consistent throughout her matches.

Gauff, who won the women’s singles title at the US Open in 2023 and also claimed the French Open earlier this year, hopes to showcase her unique style in future matches and continue her winning streak.
