Frankie Muniz Talks About His NASCAR Hiatus Due to Injury

Frankie Muniz recently shared that he’ll be taking a break from NASCAR after injuring his wrist in a rather strange incident at home.

The actor, perhaps best known for his role in *Malcolm in the Middle*, revealed the news in a lighthearted post on Thursday, joking that the phrase “FML” (reflecting his current situation) has taken on a new meaning. He mentioned he won’t be able to participate in this weekend’s Darlington race or other upcoming events.

“So, yesterday, in a rather unfortunate moment, I fell off a ladder while I was changing the battery on a ring camera in my backyard,” he wrote. “A little life lesson: it’s wise to heed warnings on ladders that say, ‘Don’t stand on the top steps.’”

After reflecting on the fall, Muniz admitted that using a taller ladder might have been the better choice.

Despite the setback, the former child star described his injury as a significant but manageable one. “I’m pretty upset about missing the race. Yet, I feel fortunate it wasn’t worse than it could have been. The team has really put their hearts into this season, and I’m thankful for the support from @fordperformance,” he noted.

According to the doctor, Muniz is expected to need about six to eight weeks for recovery. He expressed enthusiasm about getting back behind the wheel as soon as he’s cleared.

Supportive messages from fans quickly poured in after his announcement, showing that many are rooting for his swift recovery.

This injury comes at a crucial time for NASCAR, with the playoffs set to begin in South Carolina on August 30th, and only five races left in the season.
