Illegal Marijuana Warehouse Raided in Texas
In Stafford, Texas, last week, DEA special agents collaborated with local police to address allegations of illegal marijuana warehouses. During this operation, 18 undocumented individuals were apprehended while working in the facility.
A Deer Houston official made a social media remark, suggesting, “You can run, but you can’t hide it even if it’s on the ceiling!” The tweet highlighted the discovery of the illicit marijuana operation and the presence of numerous undocumented workers inside.
Details shared by the Stafford Police Department indicated that the raid occurred on Greenbrier Street, which is situated southwest of Houston. Among those arrested were individuals from Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador. The operation also resulted in the seizure of approximately 1,200 pounds of illegal marijuana, as reported by authorities.
Richard S. Ramirez, the Prime Minister of Stafford, emphasized the community’s commitment to addressing criminal activities in a Facebook post. He expressed gratitude towards their partners at various governmental levels for their cooperation in the investigation.
In conjunction with the DEA and Stafford police, multiple law enforcement agencies participated in the effort, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Missouri Police Department, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the Rosenberg Police Department, ICE Homeland Security Investigations, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Unbelievably, some of the undocumented individuals were found concealed in the ceiling and prepared for removal. Stafford lies along a significant drug and human trafficking route via Interstate 69, making such operations particularly impactful.
