Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz, a former presidential hopeful and ex-running mate of Kamala Harris, recently made remarks suggesting an end for President Donald Trump, which stirred some conversation over the weekend.
A video surfaced featuring comments Waltz made during a Labor Day Picnic in Duluth, Minnesota. He joked with the crowd, saying, “You wake up in the morning, and you think there might be some news.” There was a pause, and he continued, “I mean, I’m just saying it. There’s sometimes news—you know, there’s news.”

Waltz’s comments came amid ongoing media speculation about Trump’s health. This contrasts with how the media treated concerns about former President Joe Biden’s health during his term, despite numerous public incidents hinting at cognitive decline. Many recall how Biden’s decline eventually led to his replacement as the Democratic candidate after just one debate.
Notably, media members noted Trump’s absence from the public eye following a cabinet meeting last week. However, Trump responded to a post on Truth Social, pointing out a perceived media double standard: “Joe Biden can go multiple days without public appearances, and the media calls him ‘sharp’ and ‘on top of his game.’
“Meanwhile, if I were to vanish for one day, the media would make a fuss. It’s a comical double standard,” he said.
Trump remarked, “I’ve never felt bad in my life. Washington, D.C., is a crime-free zone!” he declared.
Vice President JD Vance asserted that Trump is in “incredibly good health” with plenty of energy. Besides that, Trump spent part of his weekend at a Virginia golf course, expressing disappointment over reactions from his critics.
These discussions come on the heels of the White House confirming in July that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous deficiency, described by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt as “a benign and common condition,” especially in those over 70.
