Trump’s Organization Plans to Create the World’s Largest American Flag
President Donald Trump’s 250 American organization is set to produce the largest American flag in the world, in anticipation of the Semi-Centennial celebration on July 4, 2026. This flag will be quite massive, measuring about 776 feet in width and 1,492 feet in length.
Interestingly, the flag’s size could surpass that of the Empire State Building and be nearly half the size of the Pentagon.
There are reports that the National Mall won’t be sufficient to display such a large flag, prompting organizers to explore larger venues for its unveiling, like the Andrews Joint Base in Maryland, NASCAR Speedway, or the United States Geography Center located in Lebanon, Kansas.
Ali Abergel, executive director of the US 250, expressed excitement over the project, stating, “President Trump is all about being historic and bigger than life. The America250 initiative reflects that spirit, all while breaking significant world records.”
Guinness World Records lists Qatar as the previous holder for the largest flag, which spanned an impressive 1,097,672 square feet in 2013. Azerbaijan followed suit in 2024 with a flag that measured 25,598 square feet. However, sources involved in the planning claim that the America250 flag will dwarf both of these records, already measuring over 1,157,000 square feet.
“This flag, made in America, will be displayed by numerous patriots, marking an extraordinary moment of national unity,” Abergel noted.
Regarding the upcoming celebration, Ambassador Monica Crowley, who oversees US protocol for the America250 initiative, emphasized that this will be a unique event. “This is the first time we’re planning such a celebration.” They anticipate making the flag announcement in spring 2026, setting the stage for what is expected to be a monumental occasion.
According to Crowley, public sentiment is positive under Trump’s leadership, suggesting the timing is just right for an epic birthday celebration, featuring the largest American flag ever made. She added that America250 aims to energize the nation with patriotism and pride leading up to the anniversary.
As the main event approaches, America250 has plans for various commemorations throughout 2025, including celebrations of the US Navy and the Marine Corps birthdays in October and November.
There has been some discussion around the composition of the committee managing the America250 events, especially following the appointment of Jack Schlossberg, a Democratic activist and grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, which has stirred up some controversy.
