LeBron James is showing his support for Caitlyn Clark following her announcement about a WNBA injury suspension.
After Clark, 23, shared that she’s sidelined for the remainder of the season, James added an encouraging note on the Feverguard’s post.
“A minor setback for a major comeback!! Resting, getting healthy, and becoming you!” he expressed.
Clark revealed on Thursday that her season is finished after attempting to recover from a left groin injury sustained on July 15. Added to that, she also dealt with a bone bruise on her left ankle during training in August, as reported by ESPN.
“We wish we could share better news, but we’re not coming back this season,” she posted on x. “I’ve spent countless hours in the gym, focused on returning, so I can’t even find the words to explain how disappointed I am. I appreciate everyone who has supported me through this uncertainty.”
“Fans kept arriving to cheer me on, bringing so much joy and different perspectives during this tough time.”
During her brief sophomore season, Clark played just 13 games, averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists.
Indiana Fever’s COO and GM, Ambercox, commented Thursday, “Katelyn has been working incredibly hard and is doing everything possible to recover, but unfortunately, time isn’t on our side. We will continue to assist Caitlin with all available resources, but we can’t risk her safety given the season’s time constraints. Her long-term health remains our top priority.”
“We look forward to seeing her back at full strength for the 2026 season.”
Currently, the Fever holds the eighth and final playoff position in the WNBA, with a record of 21-20 and three games left in the regular season.
“I’m really proud of how this team has grown stronger through adversity this year. Now it’s time to finish strong and secure our playoff spot,” Clark stated.
