Trump’s Plans for UFC Match on White House Grounds Progressing

In Washington, President Trump’s plans for hosting an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match on the White House Grounds are advancing. There’s currently some debate regarding the tentative schedule, which points to June, as well as discussions about potential fighter jet displays at the Lincoln Memorial Staircase, according to a new report.

Back in July, Trump expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “The UFC fight on the White House grounds – think about this.” UFC CEO Dana White has also confirmed plans for events on the south lawn, though this will limit audience access.

Last week, White reiterated his plans after a meeting with officials from the Trump administration.

“That would be great. The White House battle has begun,” he said enthusiastically. “We’ll dive into more specifics in the coming weeks, but we’ve made progress today.”

The tentative timing for the fight was initially reported on Friday. There are also discussions about possible locations for weighing facilities.

A spokesperson for the White House has yet to respond to confirmation requests.

The event is aligned with the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Trump has shared his ambitious vision of this match, mentioning competitors like Elon Musk and some of his well-known advisers after attending sports events in New Jersey and Florida.

“We have a lot of space there. We’re looking to construct a bit – it’s a project Dana is spearheading. He’s fantastic at this. We’re considering championship fights, aiming for around 20,000 to 25,000 spectators as part of the ‘250’ celebration,” Trump mentioned during a speech in Iowa.

White later noted that he had been offered a venue larger than the White House lawn to accommodate a bigger crowd, but he preferred to stay as close to the executive mansion as possible.
