Just a year after the fourth season aired, “Murders in Buildings” is making its return for season five!
The trio—Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez)—are back at it, trying to solve yet another murder within their own Upper West Side apartment complex, Arconia.
This time around, the latest victim is the doorman, Leicester, who was found dead in the building’s fountain. Recall that at the end of season four, the crew met a woman (played by Sofia Cuccimerio, Thea Leoni) who sought their help regarding her missing husband.
Despite allegations that her husband, portrayed by Bobby Cannavale in his debut on “Only Murders,” had connections to the Arconia, they opted not to assist her. Shortly after, Leicester turns up dead.

The fifth season of “Murders in the Building” will typically premiere with three episodes at midnight on September 9th. After that, new episodes will be released weekly on Tuesdays, continuing until October 28th.
