Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams sparked conversations online while he warmed up on Monday night, dressed in his uniform ahead of the game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The second-year NFL player sported a grey undershirt beneath his Bears jersey during the outing.
In a close match, the Bears ended up losing 27-24 to Minnesota, with the equipment choice generating a fair bit of chatter online.
For Williams, the game unfolded in two halves. He managed to put the Bears ahead by four points at halftime, but it seemed like he intended to take charge and lead the team to a victory.
While the offense struggled with two punts, the defense contributed with a pick-six by cornerback Nurssion Wright. In the fourth quarter, the Bears failed to capitalize on a scoring opportunity, missing a field goal after an 11-play, 44-yard drive, before punting again.
JJ McCarthy of the Vikings, however, made his mark as he led three touchdown drives, bringing Minnesota back into contention. Despite this, Williams connected with Roma Odunze for a touchdown pass, narrowing the deficit to just three points.
Williams completed 21 out of 35 passes, totaling 210 yards, including one passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson reflected on the game afterward, emphasizing the need to minimize mistakes. He admitted, “Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side of it.”
