Incident at Utah Valley University Involving Charlie Kirk
President Donald Trump has reacted to the news that Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot near the neck during an event at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah.
Trump expressed his support, stating, “We all have to pray for Charlie Kirk, who was shot. A great man from top to bottom. God bless him!”
Kirk was part of the “American Comeback Tour” when the incident occurred. As attendees began to leave the area, audible chaos was captured on video.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that the agency is looking into the reports of the shooting, though the details surrounding Kirk’s injuries remain unclear. He mentioned, “Our idea is with Charlie, his loved one and the influence of everyone. The agent is on the ground right away. The FBI is fully supportive of the ongoing response and investigation.”
Kirk, recognized as a prominent pro-Trump conservative figure, co-founded Turning Point USA, which promotes conservative values on high school and college campuses throughout the U.S.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox addressed the situation, stressing the importance of accountability. He stated, “There is no place in our public life in violence. Americans of all political persuasion must unite in condemning this act.”
Law enforcement has reportedly taken the shooter into custody, as indicated by campus alerts.
