Malik Nabers of the Giants promises to pay more attention to his behavior on the sidelines

Malik Narvers admits he has what he describes as a “natural bitch face.” He tries to highlight his brow as much as possible.

“It’s just my face, I suppose,” Nabels remarked after practice on Wednesday. “I always seem to have the same expression when you talk to me; I can’t help it.”

The conversation surrounding the second-year wide receiver’s demeanor has surfaced once again.

During last Sunday’s season opener, the Nabers found themselves trailing 21-6 against their opponents as the first half progressed.

While emotions ran high, they both decided to brush off the incident, opting to vent their frustrations like any competitive athlete would.

It seems, however, that Neighbors is starting to recognize how these public displays can be misinterpreted.

“Sure, I have my moments, but I had a chat with Daves after the game. It’s really about our attitude on the sidelines, myself included,” Narvers shared. “You could see how things blew up unnecessarily. I was lost in thought, considering who could do more to contribute to the team. I need to connect with Dabes more; knowing my place is crucial.”

If Narbor’s performance translated to more victories for the Giants, perhaps maintaining his cool would come more easily.

He was targeted 12 times by Russell Wilson, managing to catch just five passes for 71 yards. That lack of productivity was what left Neighbors feeling frustrated during the match and even while reviewing it afterward.

“I find myself looking back, getting irritated all over again,” he confessed. “In the grand scheme, it’s not just about the team; it’s about the gameplay. I think it’s essential to my part in this offense, so I need to start with my role. If I’m not performing properly, the whole energy shifts.”
