Tragic Incident at Evergreen High School
A male student who reportedly shot himself at Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colorado, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, as per various reports.
The incident was said to have taken place on school premises around 12:24 PM local time, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. An update confirmed the suspect’s death later that evening.

The identity of the shooter has not yet been disclosed. Jackie Kelly, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, mentioned that two other students sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital alongside the shooter. Another student was also taken to the hospital, but details regarding their condition remain unclear.
Reports indicate that one of the injured students has been released from the hospital, while another remains in serious condition.
Due to ongoing investigations, classes at Evergreen High School have been canceled for the remainder of the week.
Governor Jared Polis expressed his dismay, stating that such violence is unacceptable, particularly in schools designed to be safe spaces for children. He emphasized that families should not have to worry for their children’s safety.

In his social media post, he conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families, reiterating the tragedy’s impact on the community. He committed to staying updated on the situation through local law enforcement.
