Police Arrest Suspect in Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

Orem, Utah – Authorities have taken a suspect into custody in connection with the assassination of Charlie Kirk, which occurred earlier this week on the University of Utah campus.

Kirk, a 31-year-old father of two, was engaged in discussions under his tent at around 12:20 PM on Wednesday when a shot rang out. Video footage shows him clutching his neck before collapsing from his chair.

He was invited to speak at Utah Valley University by the local chapter of Turning Point USA, the conservative student organization he established.

A witness, terrified after the incident, sought shelter after Kirk was struck by the bullet. He was promptly taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Online videos suggest a shadowy figure was situated about 200 yards away, likely firing from an elevated position near the Loose Centre building across the plaza where Kirk was speaking.

Investigators from the FBI, including Special Agent Robert Bohls, recovered a “strong bolt-action rifle” presumed to have been used by the suspect as they fled the scene.

The FBI has released images of a black man identified as a “person of interest” in relation to the shooting. Bohls also reported finding palm prints, footprints, and forearm imprints during the investigation.

Authorities were seen collecting surveillance footage from a neighboring residence following the tragic event.

The homeowner reported that the camera captured an individual running through the backyard after the shooting.

This incident has left many uneasy, with calls for healing resonating in the community.

This story is still developing, and updates are anticipated.
