Conspiracy Theories Surrounding Charlotte Incident
Rapper Azealia Banks has stirred controversy with her wild conspiracy theory regarding the murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte’s mass transit system. Banks suggested that the killed victim was involved in espionage and prostitution, while positing that the suspect, DeCarlos Brown Jr., was a “government hitman.”
Zarutska, 23, was fatally stabbed on August 22 while riding a Charlotte Light Rail train. The attack was sudden, occurring from behind, and she died shortly afterward. Police apprehended Brown, 34, and charged him with murder.
In a recent post on social media, Banks speculated about a deeper plot, hinting that the murder wasn’t random. “Honestly, I think this is not a coincidence,” she expressed. “Spirit tells me she was a spy or a prostitute, and he was a contract killer for the government.” This assertion veers into the realm of fictional narratives, almost like something out of a spy thriller.
As her theory unfolded, Banks remarked, “Someone else wouldn’t have dropped me off 14 times, and I’ve gathered from her friends that it was nearly nothing,” which adds an intriguing touch to her convoluted reasoning.
She firmly declared, “She is definitely Ukrainian [sic], a prostitute sent to spy, and had information that wasn’t wanted.” This was followed by a barrage of questions about her connections and a peculiar focus on the absence of community support for Zarutska.
In another post, Banks continued spinning her narrative, suggesting that potential motives could involve corporate espionage. “It’s possible someone hired her to seduce the CEO for intel,” she mused, while maintaining the belief that Zarutska’s family connections were possibly fabricated.
It’s important to clarify that Zarutska moved to the U.S. in 2022 to escape the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, finding work at a local pizzeria in Charlotte. No evidence has connected her with any activities that could align her with espionage.
Banks, who has previously shown support for Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election, often criticizes political movements, adding another layer to her unpredictable statements.
