Joe Burrow of the Bengals will be out for an extended period due to injury, according to reports.

The concerns surrounding the Cincinnati Bengals have been validated as of Monday.

Quarterback Joe Burrow will be sidelined for a minimum of three months following surgery on his left foot due to a turf toe injury he sustained during the team’s recent win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

After the game, Burrow was seen in the locker room, and the team sought a second opinion on his injury that same night. He suffered the injury when he was tackled by Jaguars defensive tackle Arik Armstead, resulting in a five-yard loss. Burrow immediately went to the sideline before heading to the medical tent. He later walked off the field with visible discomfort.

“It’s tough right now. We’re okay. He’s a strong guy,” said Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins on Sunday. “I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.”

Jake Browning stepped in for Burrow during the game, helping the Bengals secure their first 2-0 start since 2018. Browning completed 21 passes for 241 yards, with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

This isn’t Burrow’s first battle with injuries since joining the league. He missed a significant portion of the 2020 and 2023 seasons and might not see much action this year either, if things don’t change.

Last season, Burrow had a standout year, leading the NFL with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdown passes, and he finished fourth in the NFL MVP voting.
