New Jersey doctor steps down, nurse remains employed after Charlie Kirk incident

Doctor Resigns Amid Controversy at New Jersey Hospital

A New Jersey doctor, who allegedly celebrated the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has resigned from his role. Meanwhile, the nurse who reported him will be able to keep her job, according to a statement from the hospital.

Englewood Health, where both worked, mentioned that it had “eagerly investigated” the incident that took place on September 10, within the patient care area. This update follows a lawsuit filed by 33-year-old nurse Lexi Quenzle against Englewood Health and Dr. Matthew John, claiming that she faced retaliation after reporting the doctor’s comments made in front of patients and staff.

The details of the hospital’s investigation have not been disclosed, although a spokesperson confirmed via email that they accepted the doctor’s resignation and that nurses will continue with their scheduled shifts as usual.

The spokesperson added, “The nurse was never fired. She was not informed that she would be terminated at Englewood Hospital, and her salary will not be affected as part of the review of this situation.”

Nurse Claims Retaliation for Reporting Doctor’s Remarks

Quenzle, who spoke on “Fox and Friends” with her lawyer John Paul Deol, mentioned that she was unfamiliar with Dr. John before the incident came to light.

She recounted that he stood there celebrating Kirk’s death, saying things like, “He deserves it,” reflecting a strong negative sentiment toward Kirk. Quenzle, who identifies as a supporter of Kirk, seemed taken aback by the doctor’s comments.

After the hospital addressed the situation, Fox News Digital reached out to both Quenzle and Deol for comments regarding the resignation announcement but received no immediate response.

Englewood Health’s statement reiterated its commitment to fostering a “safe and respectful environment for everyone.”
