The incident occurred near the Downey City Library, where emergency services were called following a stabbing that left one person critically injured. This took place on Saturday morning. A report indicated that another man suffered fatal stab wounds to the neck before help arrived.

Downey Police clarified that this individual had no connection to the murder investigation.

Footage captured by a nearby outlet showed a chaotic scene with police chasing the suspect, who was seen running from the library’s parking lot. Amidst the chaos, bystanders could be heard yelling about the ambulance being stolen.

The pursuit, spanning about 10 miles, concluded with the man crashing the stolen ambulance into a parking lot in Alhambra.
