FBI Focused on Conservative Organizations in Trump Election Interference Investigation — Including Turning Point USA

Investigation into Biden Era Targets Conservative Groups

An investigation from the Biden administration related to the special adviser Jack Smith’s interference in the election has revealed a focus not only on President Donald Trump but also on numerous other conservative organizations, including Turning Point USA (TPUSA). This information came to light through documents released recently.

The FBI’s extensive “Arctic Frost” probe scrutinizes the origins of the four-count indictment against Trump, announced in August 2023. It reportedly included 92 other Republican targets, ranging from the Republican National Committee to individuals like White House official Jeffrey Clark. These disclosures were made public by Senate Speaker Chuck Grassley.

This development arrives shortly after an event involving Charlie Kirk, who faced actions during a speaking engagement at a university in Utah. FBI director Kash Patel mentioned at a hearing that over 20 individuals linked to a chat with a suspect named Tyler Robinson are currently under investigation.

“The Arctic Frost investigation was more than just about Trump,” Grassley noted in his opening statement during a Judiciary Committee hearing. “It served as a method for partisan FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors to push their objectives and improperly investigate the Republican political landscape.”

Records have been called for by organizations like the Conservative Partnership Institute and the America First Policy Institute, indicating that these “fake investigations” have unfairly targeted groups, including TPUSA. The investigation also referenced a “J6$” subpoena involving several organizations.

According to the FBI’s summary of the Arctic Frost investigation, it described “a multifaceted plot to overturn the outcome of the 2020 presidential election” to enable Trump to assume office. The investigation mentioned various battleground states, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Trump’s indictment concerning election matters was filed in August 2023, occurring months after he faced charges in Smith’s confidential document case. Former Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Smith to lead the investigation in November 2022.

Smith has been working to fast-track the case, aiming for it to reach the Supreme Court before proceeding to lower courts to handle issues of presidential immunity. A trial is expected to occur before the election.

Moreover, the Special Advisory Bureau has started an ethical investigation of Smith concerning his conduct during Trump’s indictment.

Florida Attorney General James Usmier commented on X, asserting that the investigation and subpoenas against former Biden officials engaged in politically motivated campaigns have specifically targeted conservative individuals and organizations like TPUSA. “It’s time for accountability,” he stated.

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall added on X that he has witnessed firsthand the unfair targeting of his association. He expressed that “the FBI’s weaponization against political adversaries is a disgrace to our democracy and needs to be brought to light.”

Grassley also released audio of FBI agents and issued a subpoena to Trump advisor Peter Navarro, with new evidence contradicting the DOJ’s description of Navarro’s actions as “combat,” which were cited as justification for his arrest.

The FBI and DOJ have yet to respond to requests for comments regarding these developments.
