Trump’s Visit to Windsor Castle

On Wednesday afternoon, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at Windsor Park via Marine One. They were welcomed by the King and Queen before making their way to the royal coaches for a ride to the historic castle.

As they landed in the enclosed yard of Frogmore, Trump shared a hearty laugh while greeting Prince William and Princess Kate. Shortly thereafter, the presidential couple met the King and Queen to kick off their state visit to the UK.

This unique visit not only marks Trump’s presence as a foreign head of state but also involves several traditional ceremonies, like a carriage drive through Windsor Park, a practice that hasn’t been utilized for U.S. presidents in years. Typically, they opt for more secure transport, such as armored limousines.

During the carriage procession, which was accompanied by the royal band playing both the “Star-Spangled Banner” and “God Save the King,” the scene felt quite remarkable. The carriage arrived at Windsor Castle, where Trump was invited to inspect the honor guards in a ceremonial display.

After inspections, the President and First Lady, along with the King and Queen, headed into the castle for a private luncheon. Notably, Trump is expected to lay a wreath at the grave of Queen Elizabeth II, whom he visited during his last state trip to the UK.

A banquet in the State Dining Room is planned for the evening, where Trump and King Charles III will make speeches and toasts, marking the formalities of the visit. The following day, the agenda shifts to political discussions, including bilateral talks with the British Prime Minister.

This visit continues to unfold, presenting a blend of royal tradition and diplomatic engagement.
