Kimmel Critiques Vance Following Kirk’s Tragic Death
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel spoke out against Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday after Vance appeared on a podcast hosted by Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, just days following Kirk’s assassination.
“On one hand, it’s hard to ignore how many in Magalland seem eager to take advantage of Charlie Kirk’s murder,” Kimmel remarked. Vance, who previously referred to Trump as a “Hitler,” hosted the podcast from the White House.
During the show, Vance claimed, “Most of the madmen in American politics today are proud members of the far left.”
Kimmel, after showing a clip from Vance’s appearance, responded, “When he talks about ‘statistical facts,’ I think he’s just full of it.” The tone of Kimmel’s critique suggested a clear disdain for Vance’s remarks.

Kimmel then linked Vance’s words to the January 6 Capitol riots, recalling the infamous chants to “Hang Mike Pence” during Trump’s presidency. He noted, “It seems like the president and his followers are fanning the flames, aiming to turn the narrative against those on the left.” He jokingly added, “They might avoid tennis, but are certainly enthusiastic pickleball players.”
On Monday, Kimmel emphasized that the allegations surrounding the suspect—22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah—were attempts by the “Maga Gang” to downplay their connection to him. “We reached a new low. They’re desperately trying to paint this kid, who tried to kill Charlie Kirk, as someone who isn’t part of them,” Kimmel stated.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox remarked on Robinson’s ideological motivations, indicating a trend toward radicalism in recent left-wing thought. FBI Deputy Director stated, “It’s clear this was an ideologically driven attack.”
Kirk was shot and killed during a campus event at Utah Valley University last week. Kimmel took to Instagram to express his condolences. “Instead of pointing fingers, let’s acknowledge that violent acts like this are horror,” Kimmel wrote. “My family sends love and support to Kirk’s family and to all victims of senseless gun violence.”
