LeBron James Talks Marriage with Savannah
LeBron James has recently opened up about his marriage to Savannah, revealing that their relationship isn’t exactly “perfect.”
The Lakers star, 40, who shares three children with Savannah, 39, shared his candid thoughts during an interview with Speedy Morman on the podcast “Speed 360.”
“To be honest, relationships are by no means perfect,” LeBron stated, emphasizing that while they might appear flawless from the outside, that’s pretty rare.
“If it’s okay to navigate through tough and challenging times, then it’s definitely worth it,” he added.
Reflecting on their long history, he mentioned, “We’ve been together since high school, so things aren’t always smooth sailing, especially in a relationship that’s lasted over two decades.”
LeBron attributed the couple’s 12-year marriage to the importance of “communication.”
“Being honest is crucial too,” he noted.
Making light of relationships, he humorously tried to create an alternative to the saying “happy wife, happy life,” suggesting something along the lines of “happy husband, happy affection.”
LeBron and Savannah tied the knot in September 2013 in San Diego, California, and they celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary on September 14 with a heartfelt social media post.
“My beautiful happy anniversary. I love your mom,” he wrote alongside a photo of Savannah.
The couple proudly parents their sons, “Bronny” James Jr., 20, Bryce Maximus, 18, and daughter Zhuri Nova, who is 10.
Having grown up without much of a relationship with his own father, LeBron previously admitted that he found it “scary” to embark on his parenting journey.
“I didn’t know what would happen,” he said in an ad for Beats by Dre in August 2022, explaining that he was focused on applying patience and commitment while learning about sports.
