Military Strike Against Drug Traffickers Announced by Trump
On Friday, President Trump shared via his post on True Society that he authorized a third military strike aimed at a drug trafficker operating within the US Southern Command’s area. This operation resulted in the deaths of three male individuals described as “narcotelorists.”
According to Trump, “On my order, the War Secretary executed a strike on vessels linked to designated terrorist organizations involved in drug trafficking within USSouthcom territory.” He noted that intelligence indicated these vessels were trafficking illegal substances that harm Americans along established drug routes.

This recent strike marks the third such military action in just the past month, indicating the administration’s intensified measures against drug trafficking from Venezuela to the US. Back in February, the Trump administration officially classified several drug cartel groups, including Tren de Aragua, Cartel de los Sales, and the Sinaloa Cartel, as foreign terrorist organizations.
Amid these developments, Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro has been perceived as a significant threat to the US, particularly for his connections with Cartel de los Sales. In August, Maduro stated that he would defend “our oceans, our skies, our lands” against what he called “the strange threat of a declining empire.”

The State Department has also placed a $25 million reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Nicolas Maduro.
