Police Take Kodak Black Into Custody for Drug Trafficking

Rapper Kodak Black Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges

Authorities arrested rapper Kodak Black on Wednesday in central Florida, facing felony drug trafficking charges.

The charges originated from a shooting investigation in November 2025, near the Children’s Safety Village on Fairvilla Road, as detailed in an arrest warrant prepared by Orlando police. Officers encountered Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Capri, at the scene along with several others, allegedly discovering drugs, cash, and a firearm in a vehicle.

Upon their arrival, police found multiple individuals around a BMW SUV and a Lamborghini SUV. They reported smelling burnt marijuana, believed to be from the BMW. A subsequent search uncovered marijuana and pink pills that were later identified as MDMA, according to a report by Local 10 News.

Police also located a pink bag containing 25 grams of MDMA, around $37,000 in cash, and files linked to the rapper. Additionally, officers found a bag and a lighter inside the vehicle.

As the search continued, Kodak Black approached the officers. Allegedly, he denied ownership of the bag. When informed about the cash found within, he repeatedly requested that the officers hand it over, insisting it belonged to his company.

Investigators reportedly compared bags and lighters collected at the scene with images posted on Kodak Black’s Instagram account.

He has since been charged with trafficking between 14 and 200 grams of MDMA.

Kodak Black’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, expressed that the rapper’s surrender was planned and criticized the legal grounds for the case, affirming intentions to contest the trafficking charges.

Cohen stated, “We look forward to another successful resolution to another lawsuit that should never have been filed.”

According to reports, Kodak Black has had several run-ins with law enforcement in the past, including various charges like drug and weapon possession, assault, and battery.

He is set to appear in court on May 7.
