Olivia “Livvy” Dunne recently shared an experience where she overheard two women chatting about her in the bathroom while out on a date with Pirates pitcher Paul Skeneth.
In a TikTok video, the former gymnast, who won the NCAA title at LSU in 2024, recounted feeling embarrassed after catching snippets of their conversation about her looks when she exited the bathroom.
“So there I am, just minding my own business. These girls are talking between the stalls and one of them says, ‘Did you see Livvy Dunn here?’ So, naturally, I start paying closer attention,” Dunne explained. “I mean, I’m not a kid; these girls looked like they might be my age or slightly younger. One of them then comments, ‘Honestly, I thought she’d be more, um, carved in real life.’
She expressed surprise, saying, “What?! I didn’t know that ‘carved’ was even a word people used.” Feeling a bit taken aback, she responded.
Dunne noted that as she emerged from the stall, the two women, who were now washing their hands, seemed surprised. “I think I heard actual crickets,” she said, reflecting on the awkward moment. But then, unexpectedly, they asked for a photo, and she obliged.
Dunne added humorously, “Anyway, it’s all good. The dinner was nice. I’m just glad I’m not ‘carved’ in real life.” Her caption included a nod to the whole experience with the hashtag “Mean Girls,” saying, “I’m not chopped, just UNC.”
The term “chop,” used by younger generations, generally refers to someone perceived as unattractive.
Despite the bathroom incident, Dunne seemed unfazed in another TikTok video where she danced in her new NYC apartment to a song by Sabrina Carpenter. She captioned it with, “Welcome to my NYC apartment tour.”
This comes after she faced a setback in her apartment search. The Cooperative Committee denied her bid to purchase a three-bedroom pre-war apartment on the Upper West Side for $1.59 million.
