Trump to present the US as a protector of Western culture and criticize the shortcomings of globalism in important speech at the UN General Assembly

President Trump plans to position the United States as a defender of Western civilization and critique globalism during his significant speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

Scheduled to speak to global leaders around 10 a.m. at the UN’s New York location, he aims to advocate for peace negotiations and reinforce America’s global strength, as informed by White House representatives.

In his address, Trump is anticipated to address the drawbacks of globalism, touching on issues like large-scale migration, climate change initiatives, and the threats posed by a globalist perspective to prosperous nations.

He will also highlight successes from Operation Midnight Hammer, which involved targeted US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and drug traffickers from Venezuela in Caribbean regions.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking on a morning show, emphasized that Trump faces the challenge of addressing the UN’s potential, which has been underutilized for 80 years.

“Why do we still have a UN with incredible potential? The UN could be instrumental globally, but it often falls short,” Rubio remarked, suggesting the president is urging the UN to reevaluate its mission and effectiveness.

He noted that despite significant financial contributions, the UN doesn’t seem to be effective. “It reflects how reckless the United Nations has become as an organization,” he added.

Rubio argued that the UN merely provides a platform for representatives to deliver speeches, which he considers insufficient.

“There haven’t been many impactful actions, so while there are many possibilities at the UN, we’re not seeing them realized right now.”
