In the early hours of Monday, a man threw a propane tank through the window of a Georgia home, prompting chaos within the residence. A resident, identified as Michelle, described the shocking event that unfolded in Lawrenceville, recounting how the intruder literally hurled the tank into the home.
She said, “He grabbed a large gas tank from behind and, well, smashed it through the window.” The situation escalated quickly as they called for help. Surveillance footage captured the suspect— shirtless— wreaking havoc inside the house.
“He was just there, breaking things, taking off his clothes,” Michelle recalled.
According to police, residents confronted the man, and as officers arrived, they attempted to make an arrest. The altercation turned deadly when the homeowner shot the intruder.
Authorities have indicated that detectives and crime scene units are investigating. They have withheld the suspect’s name pending family notification.
Michelle noted a sense of unease, stating, “This neighborhood is usually very calm. We’ve lived here for over 20 years, and we’ve never seen anything like this.” A neighbor suggested the man may have jumped a fence from a nearby shopping area before entering the property.
Grateful that her family emerged unscathed, Michelle said, “Thank God, everyone is safe. God is good.” Currently, no charges have been filed regarding the incident.
Reactions from the community seemed to lack sympathy for the assailant, with comments suggesting he got what he deserved for breaking in. One user remarked that perhaps if all homeowners were armed, such incidents would be less frequent.
