Ukrainian President’s Warning to Moscow
Ukrainian President Voldy Miezelensky recently cautioned leaders in Moscow to stay acquainted with their nearest bomb shelter. He made these remarks during an interview with Axios, which followed his address to the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.
Zelenskyy indicated that he has received explicit approval from President Donald Trump to target energy and infrastructure within Russia. He mentioned that the U.S. requested Ukraine to provide a weapon system that might pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin into negotiations, though he did not disclose the specific system.
“They ought to know where the bomb shelters are,” Zelenskyy remarked about Kremlin officials. “They really need it. If they don’t cease the war, it will be necessary for them anyway.”
He added, “We respond if they attack us.” Zelenskyy also kept the details regarding the weapon system he asked for from the U.S. somewhat obscure.
In a notable turn, Trump recently expressed that he believes Ukraine can regain all its territory with the backing of the European Union and NATO. “I think Ukraine is poised to fight and win everything in its original form,” he said in a post.
“With support from Europe, patience, and financial backing from NATO, returning to the original borders where this conflict began is certainly a possibility,” Trump noted, asking, “Why not?”
This shift in Trump’s stance marks a significant change from his earlier position when he had suggested that Ukraine make substantial concessions to end the conflict.
