Marjorie Taylor Greene Addresses Concerns Over Her Safety
Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has made a bold statement, asserting that if anything were to happen to her, it’s important to know she hasn’t “committed suicide.” This comes in light of her backing a petition aimed at releasing files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Greene, known for her outspoken conservative views, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday where she emphasized that she is, in fact, quite healthy and happy. “I’m not suicidal; I’m one of the happiest, healthiest people you’ll meet,” she mentioned.
She continued, urging the public to look into possible foreign governmental or influential figures who might be motivated to prevent crucial information from surfacing: “If something happens to me, I ask you to find out who would take such extreme measures to keep this information hidden,” she added, suggesting that her audience would understand her concerns.
This unsettling disclaimer arises as Greene shows her support for a resolution championed by fellow Republican Thomas Massey, which promotes the release of materials concerning Epstein, who allegedly took his life in 2019 while incarcerated.
Greene articulated her solidarity with survivors of sexual abuse, asserting, “I stand with the girls and women who have been sexually abused and raped. Every time.” She further clarified that her drive is not about a political feud but a necessity to expose the deeper issues surrounding Epstein’s network and its victims, pledging to remain committed to the discharge petition.
Her advocacy is part of a collective effort, as she is one of several Republican signatories to the resolution alongside Massey, Nancy Mace, and Lauren Boebert, all in collaboration with over 200 Democratic lawmakers.
The resolution, known as HR-581, calls on the Department of Justice to publicly reveal all uncategorized documents and communications related to Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Among the co-sponsors of this bill, Greene notably includes prominent congressional figures like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Nancy Pelosi.
Earlier this month, Greene and Massey held a notable press conference, which featured bipartisan support from Democrat Lokanna. They sought to encourage the current administration to be more transparent regarding Epstein’s powerful connections.
“This is the most significant press conference I’ve attended during my time here; it’s a critical issue for Americans that transcends political affiliations,” Greene stated, highlighting the urgency of the matter.
