Trump pledges that Border Patrol agents 'will not tolerate any nonsense' as federal agents arrive in downtown Chicago.

With President Trump’s warnings echoing, armed federal agents patrolled downtown Chicago, declaring, “The Border Patrol will not take any nonsense!”

Beginning Sunday afternoon, these federal agents were spotted in some of Chicago’s most popular tourist and shopping areas during enforcement operations.

Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino indicated that the focus was on apprehending illegal immigrants with significant criminal backgrounds.

It remains unclear how many individuals were detained during this operation in Chicago.

Trump asserted, “The Border Patrol doesn’t take any nonsense!”

Local leaders, including Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, both Democrats, criticized the federal government’s heavy-handed approach.

Johnson expressed concern over the intimidating presence of armed agents, stating, “Chicagoans and visitors enjoy another gorgeous Sunday, but they are threatened by masked federal agents flaunting their automatic weapons for no obvious reason.”

Pritzker noted that the agents appeared to be heavily armed and dressed in camouflage and masks, adding, “This isn’t making anyone safer. It’s a show of force that instills fear in our community and damages our businesses.”

The operation in Chicago follows Trump’s earlier threats to deploy the National Guard to the city.

This escalation came after military personnel were sent to Portland, Oregon, with Trump saying he had authorized “full force” to defend the city, which he claimed was “under siege by Antifa and other domestic terrorists.”
