Trump Calls for Monaco’s Dismissal from Microsoft
Former President Trump has urged Microsoft to terminate Lisa Monaco, who previously held a senior position under President Biden’s Justice Department.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump described Monaco as “corrupted and completely confused,” raising concerns about national security and insisting she should be removed from her current role at Microsoft.
He stated, “Monaco is shockingly employed as president of Microsoft’s Global Affairs, and has a very senior role with access to extremely sensitive information. It is unacceptable and we cannot stand Monaco having such access.”
Trump went on to label her a “threat to US national security,” especially in light of Microsoft’s significant contracts with the federal government. He mentioned that the US government had recently revoked her security clearances, limiting her access to national security information and barring her from federal property.
“It’s my opinion that Microsoft should immediately terminate Lisa Monaco’s employment,” he concluded, signing off the post.
Microsoft has chosen not to comment on the matter.
Lisa Monaco served as Biden’s Associate Attorney General and played a key role in the federal investigation regarding Trump’s involvement in the Capitol attack and the related false claims made on January 6, 2021.
Earlier this year, Monaco had her security clearance revoked, alongside other former political adversaries, including Biden.
This call for action comes soon after a federal court charged former FBI director James Comey with making a false statement and obstructing Congress related to his testimony before the Senate in 2020.
Trump expressed hopes on Friday that “there are others” who will face charges, accusing his opponents of “weaponizing the Justice Department like no one in history.”
