Tragic Death of Influencer Tan Feige During Livestream
Tan Feige, a 55-year-old influencer, tragically died after plummeting from an aircraft during a livestream. He was engaged in filming a video for his social media platform on Saturday when the incident occurred.
In the distressing footage that circulated, Feige, who had more than 100,000 followers on the Chinese platform Douyin, was seen hitting the ground shortly after takeoff, as flames engulfed the aircraft.
Reports indicate the livestream was viewed by hundreds, many of whom expressed panic in the comments, urging others to “save him” and to “call emergency services.”
At the moment of the fatal fall, Feige was not equipped with a helmet or parachute. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene, though there was no reported damage to the surrounding area.
Following his death, Feige’s social media profiles were switched to private, limiting access to his content to existing followers only.
Prior to this incident, Feige allegedly invested about $49,000 in the aircraft, which was noted to be an ultra-light model that could carry one seat and weighed over 250 pounds.
Remarkably, he had claimed, in earlier videos, that the aircraft had the capability to reach altitudes of 2,000 feet and speeds exceeding 60 mph. After only six hours of practice, he confidently told viewers he was ready to take to the skies, asserting there was no need for a pilot’s license for this type of craft.
Earlier technical issues had led to two previous crashes, both caused by a malfunction in the fuel gauge, resulting in the aircraft dropping from heights under 30 feet.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing.
