Trump Presidential Library Approved in Florida
Florida officials unanimously voted on Tuesday to establish President Donald Trump’s presidential library at Miami-Dade College, as announced by Eric Trump, the president’s son.
Governor Ron DeSantis and other state figures have agreed to transfer 2.63 acres of land to the Presidential Library Foundation, which is Eric Trump’s nonprofit organization dedicated to the Donald J. Trump Library Foundation. Eric noted on social media that the library will be “one of the most beautiful buildings ever built” and an “icon of the Miami skyline.”
He expressed pride over the unanimous decision by the Florida Cabinet, stating, “This will be the largest presidential library ever built in honor of the largest president our country has ever known. Thank you very much to Governor DeSantis and Attorney General James Usmier—this has been an incredible partnership.” He further described the building as beautiful and emblematic of Miami’s skyline.
In a press release, DeSantis conveyed his honor at having the library in Florida, emphasizing that, “No state supports the president’s agenda better than the Free State of Florida. I was proud to lead the efforts to establish this historic presidential library in his hometown.”
Attorney General Usmier expressed his expectation that the library will promote patriotism for generations. The chosen site is currently a parking lot for university staff at the Wolfson campus.
Trump moved his primary residence from New York City to Palm Beach, Florida, in September 2019 and has been successful in all three presidential elections in the state.
