Andy Biggs States Ilhan Omar and Gavin Newsom's Remarks Will Encourage 'Radical Extremists'

Political Reactions to Recent Violence and Rhetoric

Arizona Republican Representative Andy Biggs criticized the recent intense actions aimed at Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar and California Governor Gavin Newsom. This comes after a resolution to censure Omar for her comments regarding Kirk during a September 11 interview on Zeteo News was defeated, with the support of four Republicans alongside all the Democrats.

During the interview, an excerpt was shared by Martha MacCallum on “The Story,” drawing attention to a post on X. Biggs expressed concern over the rhetoric around violence, stating, “It’s disheartening that the same people who advocate tolerance show such intolerance. This kind of talk can provoke those seeking an outlet for their frustration, potentially leading to violence. This is something we truly want to avoid.”

Meanwhile, Utah’s Republican Governor Spencer Cox discussed evidence found during the search for Tyler Robinson, who allegedly shot Kirk, highlighting leftist slogans found on ammunition used in the attack at a press conference on September 12.

The Department of Homeland Security also targeted Illinois’ Democratic leadership, including Governor J.B. Pritzker and Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson. According to a post on X, the DHS charged that the continuous vilification of ICE by these officials contributed to riots at an ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois. So far, 17 individuals have been arrested for their involvement in these disturbances, facing multiple charges including obstruction and assaults on federal officials.

Additionally, on September 24, a shooting incident at an ICE office in Dallas resulted in two fatalities, with the shooter taking his own life. Following several violent events linked to border enforcement, ten individuals have been charged with attempted murder related to one of the incidents since July 4.
