Federal Agents Target Dallas Strip Club in Immigration Raid
Federal agents recently conducted a raid at Chicus Bonitas Cabaret in Dallas, arresting several individuals suspected of being undocumented immigrants and seizing around $30,000 in cash. The operation was spearheaded by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Dallas, with assistance from various federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. This action was part of a broader inquiry into allegations of human trafficking and illegal employment practices at the venue.
During the enforcement operation, 41 individuals were detained for administrative immigration violations, including 29 suspected of illegal employment at the club. While ICE continues to manage the cases of those caught up in the sweep, it’s reported that at least five of these individuals have prior criminal convictions related to their illegal entry into the United States.
Among those arrested is 47-year-old Julios Cesar Martinez from Mexico, who has been convicted on multiple assault charges and driving offenses. Another individual, Victor Manuel Manzano Ramirez, also 47 and from Mexico, has previously been convicted of illegal entry and DUI. Gustavo Rojas Garda, aged 44, has a conviction for DUI, while Genaro Diaz-Perez, also 44, was convicted for prostitution.
Further complicating matters, 30-year-old Juan Carlos Salas Medina from Mexico is accused of illegally entering the U.S. ten times. He has a history of serious offenses, including aggravated assault against a family member and drug possession.
In addition to the arrests, HSI Dallas seized approximately $30,000 in cash and various business records, marking a significant step in an ongoing investigation into the club’s activities.
Travis Picard, a special agent with HSI Dallas, emphasized the agency’s commitment to combat sex trafficking, stating, “We are working with federal and local partners to leverage HSI’s unique investigative authorities to disrupt suspected trafficking in this cabaret and to identify potential victims.”
Interestingly, nearby business owners remarked that they had not noticed anything unusual before the raid, but they’ve since observed a decline in business following the arrests.
