Kylie Kelce shares her experience with miscarriage in honor of awareness month

October Brings Awareness to Pregnancy and Toddler Loss

October is recognized as Pregnancy and Toddler Loss Awareness Month, leading Kylie, Jason Kelce’s wife, to share her experiences with miscarriage.

Kylie revealed that even after welcoming their four children, memories of those early losses can still evoke strong emotions. Discussing these experiences was challenging, prompting her to take pauses to maintain her composure.

“It’s important to highlight that this pain endures, even after having given birth to four kids,” she noted during a conversation on her podcast.

In recounting her journey, Kelsey explained how, while attending an appointment at 13 weeks, she discovered there was no heartbeat. This news was particularly poignant as it fell on her husband’s birthday.

She shared a moment of surprise planned for Jason’s parents, during which they planned to present little baby boots as a fun reveal. When the somber news came, it was a stark contrast to the joy they had hoped to share.

“It felt surreal, like everything was moving in slow motion,” she said. “The nurses couldn’t find a heartbeat, and when they confirmed it, my heart sank.”

Kylie reflected on the experience and how it changed her approach to subsequent pregnancies. She mentioned waiting longer to announce pregnancies out of fear, always checking statistics online about survival rates for babies. “With my daughter Finn, I was constantly Googling every week,” she admitted.

“I empathize deeply with those still facing struggles to welcome their little ones, and I extend my sorrow to those who have faced loss after bonding with their babies.” It’s something that sticks with you.

“Talking about it was essential for my healing. It’s a journey that never fully leaves you,” she concluded.

From October 2019 to March of this year, the couple welcomed each of their four daughters, navigating both joy and heartache along the way.
