Former MSNBC host Joy Reid expressed strong criticism towards Vice President JD Vance, employing a barrage of profanities and labeling him a “racist A-Hole.”
In an interview released on Thursday, Reid directed her pointed comments at Vance, saying, “JD Vance, because you’re paying attention to me: F—you!”
This outburst came after Vance’s post on social media that morning, where he suggested Reid should show gratitude for her achievements.
Vance’s remarks noted that Reid has enjoyed significant success in her life, as he pointed out her wealth and status. “My honest non-intrusive advice,” he added, “is that if you show a little appreciation, you’ll be a happier person.” This comment garnered over 3 million views.
He referenced past interviews where he discussed his mother’s journey from Guyana to the United States. “My mother got a rude awakening like, ‘Oh, I’m racist here,’” he recalled humorously. “They didn’t say this is a place of opportunity, but for me it wasn’t.”
Reid mentioned she had not been aware of Vance’s remarks until they were brought to her attention during the interview. However, she quickly escalated her response, accusing him of making derogatory comments about Vice President Kamala Harris.
Throughout her discourse, Reid continued to criticize Vance, claiming he didn’t understand the experiences of Black immigrants. “You’re a racist A-Hole,” she asserted, suggesting that opportunities for Black people often stem from white individuals.
Reid reflected on her family’s achievements, emphasizing that her mother, who became a university professor, was indeed given opportunities by others. “Someone gave her the opportunity… you know – the Charlie Kirk version she stole from a white man,” she added.
