Another 'Narco-Trafficking' Boat Near Venezuela Destroyed by Trump's Administration

US Forces Target Cartel Boat in Venezuela

The US military recently carried out an operation against drug trafficking in the Southern Caribbean, destroying a cartel boat off the coast of Venezuela. This strike took place early on Friday and resulted in the deaths of four individuals aboard the vessel, which was operating in international waters.

This action contributes to ongoing efforts aimed at dismantling violent criminal organizations involved in drug trade since the Trump administration designated these groups as foreign terrorist organizations. An official announcement confirmed that the ship was involved in drug trafficking.

In a statement shared on social media, Secretary of War Pete Hegses highlighted that a directive from Trump led to this significant military response against the drug trafficking vessel linked to a designated terrorist group.

The memo regarding the operation described the deceased cartel members as “illegal combatants.” White House representatives noted that this categorization is standard for such military operations and does not introduce any new information to existing procedures.

“The President will align actions with the laws governing armed conflict to safeguard our nation against those attempting to import harmful substances,” officials commented, reiterating the commitment to combat cartel activities affecting American security.

Venezuela has been a focal point for cartel activities, particularly involving the Tren de Aragua, a notorious criminal organization. This gang originated from a notorious prison and has expanded its reach towards the American coast under the current administration.

Former President Trump mentioned that this morning’s operation prevented a significant load of drugs from entering the U.S. from Venezuela, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by such organizations.

Additionally, the State Department has implicated Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro in deep connections with the Sands cartel, a notorious group comprised of various high-ranking officials.
