Surveillance Video Shows Suspected Assassin of Charlie Kirk
PROVO, Utah — Newly released surveillance footage shows the individual believed to be responsible for the shooting of Charlie Kirk at a gas station in Utah. This incident followed a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University, where Kirk was attacked.
Authorities were first alerted to the Maverick Gas Station in Cedar City, located roughly 215 miles away from the shooting scene. They were prompted by information suggesting that the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, might have discarded evidence in a nearby trash bin.
Upon arrival, police discovered video footage of Robinson but confirmed that he hadn’t disposed of anything in the gas station’s trash during his stop.
According to the footage, Robinson arrived at the Maverick station around 7:15 AM on September 11, just a day after the shooting, which triggered an urgent manhunt.
In the video, he can be seen using his credit card to pay for gas. Once his tank was full, he replaced the nozzle, secured the gas cap, and departed without interacting with the trash can.
Robinson’s Escape Route
This video marks a significant part of the timeline of Robinson’s movements leading away from the shooting, as law enforcement raced to locate him. Later that same day, authorities apprehended him in St. George, as detailed in court documents.
Robinson currently faces seven charges, which include serious offenses that could carry the death penalty, as well as charges of felony discharge of firearms and aggravated murder. He has not yet entered a plea.
On Monday, defense attorneys requested additional time to review the evidence before deciding on a preliminary hearing. Prosecutors have expressed intentions to pursue the death penalty regarding Robinson’s case.
