A Unique Cocktail Experience at Claudio’s Waterfront
There’s a buzz around a striking Bloody Mary that features a whole lobster hanging over the rim. This creation is being served at Claudio’s Waterfront in Greenport, Long Island.
Customers are clearly smitten with this extravagant drink, with some willing to shell out $120 for it.
“Oh my god, they’re just amazed. People are arriving specificallyfor this,” said Managing Partner Celeste Fiero. “One party even ordered five of them for the table and took plenty of photos while digging in.”
This Seafood House, which boasts a history of 155 years, introduced this cocktail last year. It features one and a quarter pounds of lobster, eight shrimp, and is served in a delicious mix of tomato juice and vodka.
Interestingly, the Bloody Mary only gained traction when customers started sharing images and videos on social media, garnished with olives, celery, and grilled jalapeño. It’s now as popular as a grilled lobster!
A TikTok video showcasing the drink has amassed over 3.1 million views, leading to comments like, “I definitely need a side of drawn butter.”
Fiero, the creator of this extravagant cocktail, mentioned, “People are seeing it on TikTok and Instagram. Many have also said their friends recommended it. We’ve had a lot of influencers come in as well.”
However, not everyone is on board with the idea. Some people find the combination off-putting. One commenter noted, “I don’t want the lobster mixing with my drink. That feels odd,” while another simply remarked, “Poor lobster.”
Fiero emphasized that no other restaurants seem to be trying to replicate this unique item. “It’s a whole lobster you’re putting in there. It’s not something anyone can easily copy. You really need to put some heart into it,” she explained.
There’s been no request yet to take the drink home, but Fiero is open to the idea. “I think it would be fun to take it home for dinner parties,” she suggested. “While no one has done that yet, if we put it on social media, maybe someone will.”
